Understanding your cycling goals and fitness objectives is critical to achieving success. If you lack direction or purpose then the wheels will come off your plans.
Without a clear purpose depression and anxiety set in as you drift through lack of direction.
Even highly motivated and ambitious riders suffer if they feel they aren’t going well and their disappointment grows as their cycling performance drops.
The key is “never lose sight of your cycling goals” or let yourself be distracted for too long. If there is something that you really want… don’t talk or think yourself out of it. Keep you eyes on the road ahead and make it happen.
I leave you with a moment of madness from Frank Schleck when his eyes were definitely not on the road ahead. Enjoy !
