How strong is your will power? How committed are you to achieving your cycling goals? Are you prepared to sacrifice? Are you prepared to do whatever it takes?
Some people make out that willpower is the be all and end all. Have it and anything is possible. I don’t buy this.
To my mind willpower is NEVER enough. It always lets you down in the end. It’s a bit like “trying” to do something. In the long run these strategies end in failure.
If you don’t want to do something for it’s own sake then you are always left with bad feelings about it. You can only continue for so long on such a course. if you are “willing” yourself to do something then it is not truly aligned with your deep seated wants and desires.
Far better to align your objectives with your what you do “REALLY WANT TO DO” then no willpower is necessary. Nothing will stand in your way. You won’t drag your feet. You will be first in line to get the job done.
I leave you with a fantastic cycling sketch by Lee Evans who is undoubtedly following his passion and true calling as a track cyclist.
