I have so much respect for bike commuters. they battle the cold, wet and wind to get too and from work with very little praise or reward.

I have to agree with ALL except for the fact that my bike that I ride to/from work is my Bianchi Eros. Because I contend with some decent climbs, and the posture on my hybrid hurt with my laptop, I save my Raleigh Detour for rides with my daughter when I need the trailer.
But, I agree, commuting is harder than a Century. Plus, you tend to get bored. Of course, that's when, if the weather is good, and I get out while it's still light, I start taking side roads off the main road and “play”, coming up with new routes. You'll see, especially during my summer commuting, I'd take one of several routes into the office.
Thanks!
We commuters don't get very much respect!
